Pay It Forward the idea is perfect for kids. “Pay It Forward” the book is not. It's a book written for an adult audience containing adult language and situations. Many teachers are bringing the book into their classes at the high school level, but educator guidance should be exercised. For children younger than 14, we do not recommend the complete book.

In an effort to bring the heart of Trevor's idea into classrooms, however, we have created two excerpts that are suitable for children. The first is 20 pages in length and suitable for middle school students. The second is 6 pages in length and suitable for younger children. Teachers have the permission of the publisher to download and distribute copies to their students for use in the classroom.
