"You see, I do something real good for three people. And then when they ask how they can pay it back, I say they have to Pay It Forward. To three more people. Each. So nine people get helped. Then those people have to do twenty-seven." He turned on the calculator, punched in a few numbers. "Then it sort of spreads out, see. To eighty-one. Then two hundred forty-three. Then seven hundred twenty-nine. Then two thousand, one hundred eighty-seven. See how big it gets?"

You can help the Foundation empower more people, encourage more students, and respond more effectively and efficiently to the hundreds of grant requests we receive, by making a donation to help the Foundation grow. Help us set the stage in 2009 for more outreach, more grants funded, and more Pay It Forward projects set in motion!
As Pay It Forward approaches its 10-year anniversary, we would like to celebrate the stories that have made the movement so popular. We are excited to announce plans for the first book to be published by the Pay It Forward Foundation Press.
We welcome any stories by kids, about kids, and for kids that convey the essence of the Pay It Forward movement. All stories will be featured on the web, and our favorites will chosen for publication in book form. Categories include different age groups, as well as true stories, or works of fiction.
